Full Samadhi
On Monday June 27th 2005 His Holiness Bhakti Tirtha Swami left this world in Sri Gita Nagari Dham. It was his desire that his body be cremated and be laid to rest next to his dear Godbrothers in the ISKCON world headquarters, Sridham Mayapur. In Mayapur as well as the glorious puspa-samadhi of HDG A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder acarya of ISKCON, we have the samadhis of ISKCON leaders HH Tamal Krishha Goswami and HH Sridhar Swami, and HH Gaura Govinda Swami (puspa-samadhi). The urn containing the ashes of HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami has now been put into samadhi (buried) at the same site as these leaders, and a beautiful samadhi mandir (shrine) has been constructed above it. The inaguration of this mandir will took place on February 25th 2006 during the Mayapur festival and 56th appearance day of HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami. You can see a report of this festival here, and transcriptions of the memories here.
Puspa Samadhi
The puspa samadhi of HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami will be built in the project that meant so much to him, the place where he speant his final days with us, Sri Gita Nagari Dham. This temple and project is very special in our society. Srila Prabhupada desired to go there in his final days to establish varnasrama-dharma. This peaceful and sublime place is home to the gorgeous forms of Sri Sri Radha Damodara, Lalita and Vishaka Devis. The deities of Radha Damodara are arguably the most famous in our movement. They speant a decade travelling the length and breadth of the USA in the Radha Damodara Traveling Sankirtan buses, and finally came to Gita Nagari to stay. They were very dear to Srila Prabhupada, and also to HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami. Before his passing Maharaj requested that his puspa-samadhi be established at Gita Nagari so that he could eternally reside there, at the lotus feet of Sri Sri Radha Damodara.
